Gian Durand is a native of New Orleans. She earned her BA in Political Science from Xavier University and her JD from Loyola University. Despite her preparation for the courtroom, Gian's career took an unexpected turn in 2005, when she founded the Durand Group.

The Durand Group is home to a number of enterprises, including Loving Hearts. Loving Hearts is an organization that provides behavioral health and personal care services to parishes across Louisiana. Durand Food Services (DFS) has grown to become one of the region's largest minority-owned vegetable distributors. She recognizes the value of dependable performance and quick response times in the workplace.
